2023 International Workshop on Visualization and Visual Computing (VCG'23)

After a hiatus in 2021 due to Corona, we again invited visualization and visual computing researchers across all career stages for a 3-day workshop to Aarhus, DK. We discussed current cross-cutting research themes in data visualization and visual computing. As usual, the workshop was meant as a ground to explore ideas outside of the box and to bring together the people who can make these ideas happen. Topics included new ideas for dealing with erroneous data and data quality issues in visualization and visual analytics, new ways of making data science more user-driven through human-data interaction (HDI), and new teaching approaches for visualization and visual computing, such as international co-teaching.

2019 International Workshop on Visualization and Visual Computing (VCG'19)

From 21-24 MAY 2019, visualization and visual computing researchers across all career stages were invited for a 3-day workshop to discuss recent and emerging trends in our research fields and to establish new networks and collaborations. The workshop is held in an informal atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to interact and brainstorm with each other. Discussions are given precedence over presentations, and unusual and controversial ideas are more likely to be explored than common viewpoints. For this first installment of the workshop, participants came from six different countries (USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark), spanning the academic career path from graduate student to emeritus professor, and do visualization research on a wide range of data, such as cartographic and climate data, clinical and medical data, manufacturing and IoT data, as well as terrain and weather data.
